The meltdown going on right now in the United States is unprecedented.

A leadership crisis is unfolding at pace within America. It is a crisis of moral and intellectual failure that is gathering steam at pace and now threatens to erode the moral value system and, possibly, the very spiritual fabric of the world's leading democracy. 

President Trump the 45th President of the United States, before our very eyes, is gradually becoming viewed by the major institutions and branches of government he directs, leading members of the political party he purportedly leads, the intelligence services he scorns, the mainstream television and electronic print he is trying to break and every single person who voted against him as a de facto enemy of the state. 

If President Trump keeps up his present rate of giddy self-immolation, it won't be long before this is not only a majority position but an historical one too.
