It has just been announced that Bill Cosby will be shortly retried in court on charges of sexual assault. His once legendary career is in ruins and he has become a social pariah. The Cosby show is being removed from American and international television schedules. Universities are firing Cosby from their boards Charities are ending their longtime association with him.
Why?
Because over 50 women have come forward and accused Cosby of sexual assault. Various media and Hollywood gurus have rightfully demanded Cosby’s accusers be listened to and taken seriously. Why? Because every woman’s claim of rape should be respected by the courts and law – and who can argue with this?
So why is Dylan Farrow ignored?
Dylan Farrow has accused her father, Woody Allen, of repeatedly sexual abusing her. Dylan Allen has never had her day in court, appears unlikely to do so, and no one in Hollywood of any standing has spoken up to support her. Keaton has repeatedly bushed off Dylan’s claims and many of Allen’s supporters dismiss Allen as being a dupe who has been used by her mother, a vindictive Mia Farrow to strike out at the unimpeachable Allen.
What's the Hollywood elite response?
Woody Allen recently appeared at a big social event to praise Diane Keaton, his longtime collaborator. Keaton is regarded as an American style icon and a champion of female rights. Allen was also honored with a long interview on Facetime Live and is no doubt working on financing his latest film. Cosby had his plans to buy an entire TV network derailed and faces losing his fortune if the court cases against him are successful, yet Allen continues to raise funding for his yearly movie efforts without any problems.
